Lisbon Mercado — Sardines and Morning Tile

9-second photorealistic market film, 16:9. A briny-bright morning inside Lisbon's Mercado da Ribeira, where grilled sardine smoke hangs over silver fish rows and the Tagus glitters through the far doors.

0-3s: The camera slips past the azulejo-tiled facade, cobalt and white geometric panels catching the first sun, and pushes into the old market wing. Charcoal grills bloom into view, smoke billowing in thick blue-white ribbons. Whole sardines lie in silver rows on crushed ice, scales catching the light; a fishmonger flips a row on the grill with practiced tongs, sparks rising. Vendors call out in melodic Portuguese, voices overlapping like a chorus.

3-6s: The weave continues down the aisle. An old woman in a wool cardigan studies a tray of percebes, goose barnacles, turning one over with an expert eye before nodding at the vendor, who bags them in paper. A boy hurries past carrying a wooden crate of pastel de nata, steam and cinnamon trailing him; the camera catches the tarts' blistered custard tops. Through the far doors the Tagus flashes, morning sun shattering on the water, the red span of the 25 de Abril Bridge hanging in the distance.

6-9s: The camera arrives at a marble counter and settles. A plate of grilled sardines arrives: skins charred black, flesh silver, lemon wedges and a glass of vinho verde sweating beside it. A final wisp of smoke crosses the frame as a fork lifts the first sardine, oil glistening.

Craft: subjects in authentic workwear — rubber aprons, rolled sleeves, hairnets, the old woman's patterned scarf; props of charcoal grills, ice beds, paper cones, ceramic plates. Camera: continuous handheld weave at chest height, 24mm feel, gentle push-ins on the sardines and the percebes, rack focus from smoke to bridge. Lighting: bright morning daylight flooding through the doors, warm undertones from the grills, soft smoke diffusion, crisp shadows on the tile. Atmosphere: coastal-morning, authentic, appetizing, joyful noise. Style: documentary market film, bright natural grade, photorealistic, 24fps.
