Tailfins at the Carhop — A 1959 Cadillac Summer

Retro Americana short, 8 seconds, 16:9. Golden evening at a carhop drive-in: a 1959 Cadillac Eldorado with towering tailfins and whitewall tires pulls under the striped canopy, chrome winking in the low sun, while a carhop on quad skates glides out with a tray that hooks onto the driver's window. 0-3 seconds: a low heroic tracking shot at bumper height follows the Cadillac rolling in — tailfins slicing the honeyed light, V8 rumbling, dust glowing in the headlights of the car behind. 3-6 seconds: the carhop skates into frame in a swing skirt and paper cap, tray balanced with two frosted milkshakes and a burger basket; she hooks it on the window with practiced ease as the driver, a kid in a letterman jacket, grins and cranks the radio — a rock-and-roll guitar riff spills out over the lot. 6-8 seconds: the camera rises to a wide shot of the whole drive-in — neon sign buzzing, a row of fins and chrome, kids laughing on hoods — as the sun drops behind the highway and the neon takes over. Craft: period-perfect 1959 details — Dagmar bumper bullets, wraparound windshield, porthole hardtop trim; carhop uniform with name tag and saddle shoes; tray with red-and-white checkered paper. Camera: low heroic angles on the tailfins, smooth skating tracking shots beside the carhop, a final crane-up wide. Lens feel of 1950s 35mm — slight halation on chrome, fine film grain. Lighting: honeyed sunset key raking across the chrome, warm practicals from the drive-in sign and menu boards, long shadows across the asphalt. Atmosphere: carefree, gleaming, romantic — summer with the top down. Style: 1950s car-culture homage, loving chrome detail, saturated warm grade, 24fps, authentic period motion.
