Hollow in the Hedge — Garden Cryptid

An 8-second garden-gothic horror short, 16:9, shot as phone footage. A gardener trimming a towering yew hedge discovers it is hollow — and something is nesting inside. 0-3s: morning mist in an overgrown English garden; the gardener's phone films her shears biting into the towering yew hedge, uncut for years. Green clippings fall — and the shears pass through empty space. She pulls the branches apart, and the hedge is hollow: a chamber woven from living twigs, floored with moss and small white bones — bird, mouse, and some larger. 3-6s: the phone's light sweeps the chamber's center — a nest of shredded bark cradles something the size of a human infant, twig-limbed, its head a smooth knot of wood with two dark hollows for eyes. The hollows track the camera. The gardener's shears freeze mid-snip. 6-8s: from deeper in the hedge, more hollows open in the twig walls — dozens of dark eye-knots, all turning toward the light. The nest-thing sits up. The phone jerks back as twigs scrape the lens. Craft: the gardener in work gloves with shears; the towering yew hedge, its hollow twig chamber, moss floor, scattered small bones; the twig-limbed nest-thing with knot-wood head; the multiplying eye-knots in the walls. Camera: handheld phone footage, macro hedge detail, the light sweeping the chamber; natural shake, authentic framing. Lighting: mist-filtered morning green, the phone's harsh white light inside the dark chamber. Mood: garden-gothic dread, quiet and wrong. Style: phone-footage horror, macro hedge detail, natural sound, 8 seconds, 16:9.
