The Turtle Armada — Hatchlings to the Sea

A 12-second fragile-hopeful nature film, 16:9, 24fps. On a nesting beach at dawn, sea turtle hatchlings race for the surf — the drone following low over their tiny tracks to the waves. 0-4s: the nesting beach at dawn — the sand dimples, and the hatchlings emerge: dozens of tiny flippers churning, racing for the surf. Gulls circle overhead, shadows passing. The drone drops low behind the leaders, following their tiny tracks. 4-8s: the run — the low follow shot tracks the hatchlings' sprint, flippers blurring, sand flying, the surf's white edge advancing and retreating. A gull dives; a hatchling veers and keeps running, undeterred. The first wave takes one — tumbling it head over tail — and it rights itself and strokes on, determined. 8-12s: the swim — the tiny swimmer strokes out past the breakers, the dawn light on the water, the beach falling behind. The drone holds as the hatchling's head dips and rises, dips and rises, growing smaller — the open sea ahead, the journey begun. Craft: the sea turtle hatchlings; the nesting beach; the circling gulls; the surf; the dawn-lit open water. Camera: low follow shot of the hatchling run, ending at and beyond the surf; intimate tiny-scale framing. Lighting: dawn light on sand and water, the tiny swimmers rimmed in gold. Mood: fragile, determined, hopeful. Style: detailed 4K nature cinema, dawn tones and tiny-scale drama, 24fps, 12 seconds, 16:9.
