Parking Ticket Machine — Barrier Arm Rises Alone

Parking lot exit camera, 8 seconds, 16:9 — midnight to 4 AM in one continuous shot, where the barrier arm rises for no one and the ticket machine serves an invisible queue. 0-2s: The static exit cam: the empty lane under sodium lights, the ticket machine glowing. The barrier arm rises — no car present. It lowers. Rises again, patiently, for nothing. 2-4s: The ticket machine begins printing: tickets spooling out in a continuous ribbon, fluttering across the empty lane, piling against the curb in drifts. 4-6s: Headlights appear at the exit — a real car approaches through the dark and stops at the barrier, engine idling. The barrier doesn't rise for it. The driver gets out, shouting, waving at the camera — and behind him, in the ticket machine's small reflective screen, a crowd of figures is visible queued at the exit: dozens of them, waiting silently. 6-8s: The driver's shouting dies in his throat. The driver turns. The lane is empty. He looks back at the screen: the crowd is closer now, and at the front of the queue a child holds up a ticket — and the barrier arm slams down. Craft: subject — the shouting driver; the screen's queued crowd with the ticket-holding child; the possessed barrier and ticket machine. Camera: static exit cam, timestamp racing through the night hours, night grain; 30fps. Lighting: sodium lot lights, the ticket machine's small glow. Atmosphere: bureaucratic nightmare — the queue that outranks the living. Style: static exit-cam realism, timestamped, night grain, found-footage dread.
