Jukebox Heroes — A Vinyl Record Pressing Plant, 1962

Retro Americana industrial film, 8 seconds, 16:9. Inside a 1962 record pressing plant: hydraulic presses slam in rhythm, hot vinyl biscuits flatten into LPs, paper labels spin into place at the center. 0-3 seconds: rhythmic industrial shots — the presses slamming down with pneumatic hiss, steam curling off fresh vinyl, biscuits of hot black wax flattening into perfect discs; workers in rolled sleeves and ties moving with practiced timing between the machines. 3-6 seconds: fresh records slide down the cooling racks and are sleeved in printed jackets; a worker holds one up to the light, tilting it to check the grooves catch the light in unbroken spirals, nodding approval; the label — a new single — spins hypnotically on a turntable in the listening room. 6-8 seconds: the needle drops and the single crackles to life — a rock-and-roll guitar riff — the camera pushing in on the spinning grooves as the whole plant seems to move to the beat, vinyl-black sheen everywhere. Craft: period presses with analog gauges, vinyl biscuits, paper labels, printed sleeves; workers in early-60s factory dress. Camera: rhythmic industrial cutting, vinyl spin close-ups, needle-drop finale. Lighting: factory fluorescents with vinyl-black sheen, warm practicals in the listening room, film grain. Atmosphere: industrial and thrilling — music made physical. Style: early-60s industrial film, groovy period detail, 24fps.
