An 8-second self-fragmentation horror short, 16:9: a mirrored elevator descending past its floors — while the reflections begin arriving at different times. The hook: in the rear mirror, the rider is gone, and a tall figure stands in their place.
0-2s: A mirrored elevator, the camera riding alone, locked tripod. Floor numbers descend: 12, 11, 10. The mirrors multiply the rider into infinity — but the reflections begin to desync. In the left mirror, the rider is still watching the floor numbers; in the right mirror, the rider is already looking at the camera; in the rear mirror, the rider is gone — and a tall figure stands in their place.
2-5s: The floors keep descending past the lobby: B1, B2, B7. The reflections diverge further — in one mirror the rider is aging, grey threading their hair; in another the rider is a child, swinging their legs; in the rear mirror the tall figure is closer now, its hand reaching out of the glass. The elevator hums on, indifferent.
5-8s: The elevator stops. The doors open — onto the mirrored elevator: an identical car facing this one, its rider stepping forward. Both riders reach for the doors at once. The tall figure's hand touches the glass from inside. Cut to black.
