Rain of a Thousand Cuts — Dojo Night Duel

Fifteen-second dark anime short, 16:9. Inside an old wooden dojo at night, rain hammering the tiled roof, lightning flashing through paper shoji screens, two rival students circling each other on the polished floor. 0-4 seconds: the tall student with a tied-back topknot and the small quick one with a shaved head circle slowly, reflections of their blades shimmering in puddles leaking through the ceiling, thunder rolling. 4-10 seconds: they explode into a blinding flurry of cuts, steel clashing in rapid succession, sparks striking off the blades, the camera shaking with handheld-style energy as they trade a dozen blows, splinters flying from a struck pillar. 10-15 seconds: a lightning strike freezes the frame in white light as both blades stop a hair from each other's throats; the camera pushes in in slow motion on the crossed blades, rain dripping from the steel, then cranes upward through the broken roof into the storm. Craft: the tall student wears a dark indigo keikogi with a black hakama, the small one a grey keikogi with a white headband; the dojo has polished wood floors, paper shoji screens, and a broken roof tile letting rain in. Camera: handheld-style shake during the flurry, a slow-motion push-in on the crossed blades at the lightning flash, a final crane shot rising through the roof. Lighting: cold blue storm light mixed with warm candle flicker, wet reflective surfaces doubling every source. Atmosphere: electric, fateful, intense. Style: modern cel-shaded anime with cinematic color grading, motion blur on strikes, dramatic chiaroscuro, 24fps.
