The Dam Builders — Holding Back the Sink

A 12-second 16:9 tense miniature engineering thriller: tiny engineers race to build a matchstick dam across a sink as the faucet runs. The scene opens on the stainless sink, water rising, the crew swarming — matchsticks stacked in a hurried wall, cotton-plaster packed into the gaps, the water lapping at the structure. 0-4s: The camera cuts between the rising water and the frantic work — one engineer diving to plug a spurting leak with chewing gum, another passing sticks hand to hand, the foreman shouting silent orders, the dam groaning under the pressure. 4-8s: The structure bows inward, water seeping through in white threads, a matchstick slipping — the crew throws their weight against it, the gum plug holding, the cotton swelling, the dam shuddering but standing as the water diverts toward the drain-spillway. 8-12s: The dam holds; the engineers stand soaked on their wall, arms raised, cheering silently as the water streams safely past through the spillway, the faucet still running, defeated. Subject and craft: miniature engineers, matchstick dam, cotton-plaster, chewing gum plug, rising sink water, drain spillway. Camera: cutting between the water and the work, tightening on the near-collapse, final triumphant wide. Lighting: chrome-and-water light, droplet hyper-detail, bright sink glare. Mood: disaster-averted thrill, scrappy and triumphant. Style: miniature engineering cinematography, photorealistic.
