Blossom Blade Duel — Sakura Samurai Short

Twelve-second cel-shaded anime short, 16:9. A moonlit temple courtyard in old Japan: stone lanterns glowing amber along a moss-darkened veranda, cherry blossom petals drifting on a warm night wind, a hush hanging over the courtyard before the first strike. 0-4 seconds: a weathered ronin in a patched indigo haori steps into the courtyard's center, hand resting on his katana's hilt, while his rival, a poised swordswoman in a crimson kimono with a white obi, emerges from the shadows of the veranda with her blade already half-drawn, petals swirling between them. 4-8 seconds: they clash in three rapid exchanges, steel ringing, sparks bursting, petals exploding upward with each parry; the ronin ducks a horizontal slash and answers with a rising cut that she deflects with a spinning turn of her wrist, her kimono sleeve flaring wide. 8-12 seconds: the camera whips into a low-angle close-up of the blades locking at the crossguards, both fighters' faces reflected in the steel, then pulls back to a wide shot of the two frozen mid-stance, petals settling around their feet like pink snow, neither willing to strike first. Craft: the ronin wears a patched indigo haori over a faded grey kimono with a loosening topknot; the swordswoman's crimson kimono has a white obi tied in a drum knot and her hair is pinned with a single wooden kanzashi; props include the stone lanterns, the veranda's dark wood, and drifting petals. Camera: a slow orbiting dolly that accelerates into a whip-pan for the blade-lock close-up, then a smooth crane pull-back to the final wide; anime staging with bold speed lines during strikes and brief impact frames. Lighting: cool blue moonlight against warm amber lantern glow, sharp rim light tracing the blades; petal highlights sparkle as they pass through lantern light. Atmosphere: tense, poetic, honorable. Style: crisp cel shading with hand-painted backgrounds, restrained film grain, 24fps with smear frames on the fastest cuts.
