The Bearded Dragon's Job Interview — Cold-Blooded Professional

Workplace comedy short, 10 seconds, 16:9 — a corporate conference room under harsh fluorescents hosts the most unflappable job interview ever conducted, starring a bearded dragon in a tiny clip-on tie. 0-2s: Establishing: a grey conference room, water carafe, stack of resumes on the table. SPIKE, a bearded dragon wearing a tiny navy clip-on tie, sits motionless atop the resume stack across from a hiring manager mid-question about strengths. Spike stares, utterly unblinking, for ten full seconds of screen time; the manager's confident smile begins to falter. 2-5s: Asked about his greatest weakness, Spike slowly — agonizingly slowly — blinks exactly once. The manager gasps softly, scribbles vulnerability and self-awareness in the margin, and underlines it twice, nodding with respect. 5-8s: Asked where he sees himself in five years, Spike does nothing at all — no blink, no breath visible, a perfect reptilian statue. The silence stretches until the manager leans toward the camera and whispers: hired. 8-10s: Spike is handed a tiny laminated employee badge; he remains motionless as it is clipped beside his tie, and the manager pumps his fist. Craft: subject — bearded dragon with textured scales and a tiny navy clip-on tie; human co-star in business casual with notepad; props — resume stack, water carafe, laminated badge, ballpoint pen. Camera: locked-off interview framing with slow push-ins on Spike's unblinking face, a macro on the single slow blink, deadpan cutaways to the manager's reactions; 24fps. Lighting: flat harsh fluorescent office light, slight green cast, hard shadows under the table. Atmosphere: deadpan, absurd, corporate-sincere — the joke played completely straight. Style: mockumentary office comedy, dry timing, static-camera discipline, naturalistic grade.
